About us

Organization and operation

How we work

Our association’s activities are guided by clearly defined bylaws and internal regulations. These documents establish our governing bodies and detail our decision-making procedures. In addition to these permanent bodies, our by-laws provide for the creation of specialized commissions. These commissions are tasked with dealing on an ongoing or ad hoc basis with the association’s activities and specific technical issues.

Our Governance Body

The purpose of the General Meeting is to discuss and deliberate on decisions to be made by the Association. It is AUMA’s decision-making body. The Executive Committee makes the necessary decisions for the operation of the organization, with the support of the Executive Secretariat. The Executive Secretariat is responsible for steering the development plan for technical and financial partners, as well as the Association’s membership expansion plan to recruit new members. Commissions are set up for each of the three thematic areas to review and direct activities. Each commission is headed by one of the three vice-presidents. The permanent secretariat is entrusted to AMUGA, based in Abidjan.

Association management

Constitutive General Assembly, Dr. Thierno Birahim AW of CETUD was elected Chairman of the Association’s Executive Committee. He is assisted by three vice-presidents. The Association’s permanent secretariat, based in Abidjan, is managed by AMUGA.
